My dream job

Hello, hope you are doing well today!

Although I don't dream about labor, If I had a dream job it would be related with what I am currently studying: Archaeology. I would like to work in the area of conservation or research, to be in contact with materialities from another perspective. However, when you are starting out, it's difficult to work in the research area, since previous experience is required. Also, It's hard to make a living from research in Chile, plus you depend on publishing your work in journals, which is harder if you're new, so you have to assist to congresses to publicize your research work, which I don't like because its very hard for me to talk in public. Despite all of this, I would love to work in those areas and be able to travel to many places in the South or North of Chile.

Additionally, I would like to be expert in some material like textile, archaeobotanic, archaeofauna or ceramic. For this, I need to have some skills such as knowing how to identify and distinguish bones, ceramic fragments or plants remains, for example, or knowing how to use certain tools such as microscopes to be able to observe remains (specially the archaeobotanical ones) and distinguish their properties in order to obtain information about the archaeological sites to study. I have learned some of these skills in my formation, but I would like to be able to improve them and use them in the future.
